Testing is used to monitor progress and familiarise children with

taking examinations in order to build confidence.  The tests which

are written by the National Foundation for Educational Research,

are carried out every year in both the spring and summer terms

from the age of seven years in English, mathematics, verbal and

non-verbal reasoning.  In addition children are given valuable

experience in taking past papers in these subjects so that they

are well prepared for the secondary school selection examinations

which take place at eleven years.
